Entryway to pool deck
ABOVE: Is a view of the entryway to the pool deck and the tiled shower area. We build up a knee wall along the perimeter of the screened enclosure, wrapping each structural member, and matched the stucco veneer of the home. The entire pool deck was resurfaced with neutral colored pavers, the knee-wall topped with the same paver style. A corner of the enclosure, adjacent to the new summer kitchen, tiers up over the new solid cedar door, providing security and intimacy to the pool deck. The shower area now boasts coordinating wall tile, shower valve and  functional drain. The upper deck was resurfaced with 16x16 tile, set on the diagonal in the field, banded by a deep green granite tile inlay offset 16 inches. We applied an etching treatment to the tiled upper deck to enhance traction and reduce the likelyhood of slipping. The steps down to the pool deck were illuminated along with water feature lighting.
BELOW: A view of the Summer kitchen featuring a sink and fridge convenient to the gas grill and burners inset into the granite top. The workspace is illuminated by dimmable pendant and recessed spotlights arranged on the bulked-up soffit. Also, a glimpse of the new copper ceiling tiles.
Summer Kitchen on Pool Deck
BELOW: We resurfaced the spa and pool with a deep black veneer and fabricated two spillways with natural stone to course between irrigated planters. The spa was wrapped in natural stone and topped with black granite to coordinate with the new summer kitchen counter.
